I have a sensitive child! And I appreciate that. His heart is “talking” to me.

In his heart, there is a lot of joy, laughter, and pain.

Many parents have sensitive children, and they often say they cry a lot.

I know that my son is crying when something hurts him inside or maybe when he’s scared. He has no filters and no defenses – which I find wonderful!

I know a lot of parents who would try to make their child strong and tough!

Then they would say, ‘Hey, why are you crying, my son? You need to be strong! You’re a big boy!

“You have nothing to fear!”

So I have a question for you:

Big boys or even adults don’t cry? Are we not afraid sometimes?

The answer is clear.

We, adults, know that there are fears and pain in real life all the time.

And out of concern, we want to shield our children from this, but will this method make our children strong and tough?

Will they be kids who can cope with difficulty more easily?

Let’s do a little exercise:

Take yourselves back to a moment in time when you experienced sadness or fear. It happens almost every day.

How did you feel? And what did you actually want at that time?

Some of you will say: We need a long and empathetic hug.

Others will say: We need someone to listen and comfort us.

There will be those who will settle for being consoled and then move on.

And there will be those who need to unload – to unload either through words or tears.

Anything you choose will soften the blow.

Crying is an essential healing tool for releasing and recharging the soul.

Now that you have been released and your need has been fulfilled, this is the time where you can receive different advice from what you believe.

It will be easier to accept, and you will even take it upon yourselves to get the advice that which a second ago would not have occurred to your mind since you were tied up with anger, pain, or fear.

Now imagine that your need has not been fulfilled!

Your beloved person is standing before you, judging and claiming that there is nothing to be angry about. They will question you and do not understand all the fuss that appears.

In their opinion- The crying and drama are unnecessary, and you need to wipe away the tears and move on.

Now, Question yourself-How would you feel? Would there be any healing or an escalation of your senses here? Again, the answer is in your hands.

The purpose of this exercise is to teach us to listen to what our children need in sensitive situations, in which anger or crying breaks out.

They need comfort; they need to know that we are with them in the situation and are not criticizing them or judging them for their behavior.

Through this manner of acceptance, inclusion, and understanding, you need to help your children heal and teach them to let go and not hold on tightly.

Because when we hold on tightly, we may suddenly break down, and then the intensity of the fall and the breakdown is stronger and more powerful.

A wise woman in a crisis once told me: “Now the waters are raging! Everything is powerful – relax! Let the storm pass. Do not fight it, for the sea will not rage forever and will become calm, and then you can sail in the ocean quietly when the visibility is clear, and you know where to go.”

So my advice here is, don’t fight the storm and the drama that has overtaken your child.

Respect it!

Wrap your children in acceptance and support.

Help them calm the raging waters inside them, and after the storm has passed, row along with them towards your goal.

When your child feels safe, they will listen and understand the new aspect you would like to educate and support them!
